All In One Place

Let us stand here on this earth all in one place. Trust that we have the miracle of life on our side and that we were designed to be well.

Life will present us with events. Our reactions, thoughts and emotions are innocently a part of the design that takes care of us. We are guided by principles that are often beyond our control or understanding.

When we suffer we have only lost sight of our path. What is occurring is and should be occurring at any moment in time. It cannot be any other way. When we argue with this, the present moment, we hurt. Thoughts like; I should have, they should have , or I shouldn’t have, when spoken inside of us, are stories that argue with what is.  This discrepancy spins into an excessive need to over-control life, a neediness to be loved by others or a need to feel safe.

Be still with your hurts until they reveal their offerings. As we practice this we develop compassion by example and not by rote recital. Be a student of what you are being called to know. The way we value our own perspective is also how others value theirs. When you spend time in their business, it is really you metaphorically spending time in your business about theirs. Your well-meaning energy may be better spent not in mirroring the pain of others. Beware that this can aid in their neediness and can discourage their healing.

The past is over.  Check In with your imagination for where you forget this. That was then, this is now, and now is new. Shake hands with uncomfortable feelings that appear to be of the past or to create an unknown future. They dissipate as you welcome them. Do not attach yourself too long to any recovery. Work to allow it to blossom into discovery.

Truth does not have to be brutal. Though it does need guidance and can take  courage. Be kind and honest to yourself and others. Tame your inner voice. Clearly intend your words. Examine your beliefs for their proofs often.  Catch where they may be generating unhappy reactions in you and others.

As friends, children or parents walk through your life, work to be entertained rather than hurt by them. Release the temptation to own them. There is a time to keep learning from all who touch our lives, and also a time to let go.  In the end, letting go can be a gift to all sides of a needy relationship.

We are simultaneously a teacher to some and a student of others.  Heroes and idols are only there for you to mold an even better you. This will lead you to your heart’s desire. Attachments, as attractive as they are, can also be impediments and clouds to a happier life.

Create value so your soul never empties by just making money for its own sake.
When you feel poor use the free and available tools of patience, talent and accountability to grease the generator of valuable returns.

While it is seductive to overpower and beat others, overpowering  has a rebounding cost that keeps on numbing. Remind yourself often that by making enemies, you in turn become an enemy.  Empowering on the other hand, with clarity and cooperation, adds value and builds strength. This works on a personal level and flows outward to every aspect of your life.

Stay the course to a happier life.  Remind yourself of essential happiness and how it relates to sanity. This is a statement of strength, focus and healing rather than weakness. It is the power that heals sickness and replenishes our soul.

The more you keep your heart clear, the more it works to sense danger and develop trust.  Hard protection and numbness miss the message we need to hear. As you move forward, there is no end to life’s surprising realizations. Not even to your dying day.

Love is the field of what is left when there is no more resistance. It grows and works its wonders perennially behind the scenes. It holds the vault of our intelligence and wisdom. Love operates with the power of returns. It is the source of our creativity and joy, and is as ever-present as the sun.  Bask in its light often.

About the Poem

This poem is delivered to you in the spirit of empowerment and inner peace. It may seem odd to use the words empower and inner peace together.  But it can be said that most of us lose our power and our sanity when we give way to our emotional inner content. The truth is, that when we lose our way, there is a pathway back that offers a better perspective and relief.

While it can be read one verse at a time, my hope is that it can also be used often as a centering practice. Hopefully opening pathways of exploration and conversation. Maybe even raising new conclusions to replace old ones.

Life has put me in the incredible position to experience the stories of many people who come for help and relief from their physical and emotional problems.  With this comes the challenge to look further into what will give them relief.  Over the years some things have worked better than others. The bottom line was that those who understood and were willing to follow the direction of growth and healing did better. Others had no idea that their perspective of life could be literally killing them.  The poem is a nudge in the direction of healing and away from the direction of pain.

The ideas for the poem seemed to come to me all at once but actually represented a lifetime of lessons. I have struggled with my own resistance and obstacles to get it to you.  My hope is that it stimulates a dialog within you or with others to bring more health, relief and direction to those it touches. As it does for me.

All The Best,
